moderation guidelines for children’s services

The Home Office (UK) has now published it’s non-binding guidance document on the moderation of online community and social software services for children.

The document:

  • describes the types of moderation that can be used
  • informs organisations of all the issues they should take into account when assessing the need for moderation of interactive services
  • informs organisations of the issues they should take into account in the recruitment, training and supervision of moderators
