sat-nav brings 1000s to once quiet village

Barrowgurney As soon as I started using satellite navigation, I realised how much it was going to change – no longer was a journey to a place I’d never been before a chore involving getting out a map or printing out directions, realising those directions weren’t sufficient, getting lost and becoming frustrated at not being able to find my way back on route. Yes, all that on my weekly two mile drive to get groceries…

Barrow Gurney, a small village in Somerset, has reportedly been inundated with an additional 10,000 vehicles a day, apparently users of satellite navigation systems being re-routed around congested roads near Bristol Airport.

  1. Gloomycorp were obviously using sat-nav to find their photos……this isn’t Barrow Gurney village, its the flaming reservoir up the road!
And its not an additional 10,000 vehicles per day….we get all those anyway, WITHOUT sat-nav!
